Résumé de l'article

Several Learning Analytics applications are limited by the cost ofgenerating a computer understandable description of the course do-main, what is called an Intelligent Curriculum. The following workcontributes a novel approach to (semi-)automatically generate Intel-ligent Curriculum through ontologies extracted from existing learn-ing materials such as digital books or web content. Through a seriesof natural language processing steps, the semi-structured informa-tion present in existing content is transformed into a concept-graph.This work also evaluates the proposed methodology by applyingit to learning content for two different courses and measuring thequality of the extracted ontologies against manually generated ones. The results obtained suggest that the technique can be readily usedto provide domain information to other Learning Analytics tools.CCS CONCEPTS• Computing methodologies → Natural language process-ing; • Applied computing→ Computer-assisted instruction;KEYWORDSintelligent curriculum, ontologies, NLPACM Reference Format:Angel Fiallos and Xavier Ochoa. 2019.
